Jake Westbrook to DL

ESPN is reporting that the Indians have placed pitcher Jake Westbrook on the DL with a strained abdominal muscle.

Bad news for the Tribe. Anyone know how long he's expected to be out?

From the reports I am hearing around here, he will be eligible to come off on the 18th. He was put on the DL retroactively from when he came out of a game with an injury...forget who they were playing.

While he is an OK pitcher, his loss will not be too big. Cliff Lee just came off the DL. His DL stint will also keep Carmona up in the big leagues for a while longer. I personally think they should find a way to keep him up this season. He is pitching great.
