Jake Westbrook contract talks

The Cleveland Indians are reportedly working on a new, longterm deal with P Jake Westbrook, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. According to the paper, "Westbrook, making $6.1 million this year, is a free agent at the end of the 2007 season." Here's hoping they can get something done with Westbrook.

Westbrook has a new deal, reportedly for 3 years & $33 million. Glad they've got him locked up!

They could have had Jason Schmidt for around that price.

And your point is? Westbrook is a young pitcher on the rise. I'd definitely take him over Schmidt.
