Yep...The Indians will announce tomorrow they've hired Buck Showalter to be a special assistant to manager Eric Wedge and GM Mark Shapiro.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer Blog, Showalter will help in player development and player acquisition (in an advising form).

Indians have a very good team, and with a bullpin expect them to contend.

showalter will help that team alot. wedge better step it up.

I think this is a bad move. Either fire Wedge and hire Showalter or don't bring Showalter in at all. It's never a good thing to have a hyena waiting for the axe to fall.

For now let Wedge lead this team but if he can't produce "The Buck" will stop here and it will be a Goodyear especially when the Tribe moves Spring Training in 2009 to AZ.
