Eastern Conference Finals - Cavs vs. Pistons

The Cavaliers have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals of the NBA Playoffs for the third time in franchise history and will face the Detroit Pistons for the 2007 Eastern Conference Championship. In the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals series, Detroit has home court advantage in a 2-2-1-1-1 format.

It's the Cavaliers vs. the Detroit Pistons for the NBA Eastern Conference Championship!

So Cleveland has knocked off the Nets and will now face Detroit. Predictions in this series?

Re: Eastern Conference Finals - Cavs vs. Pistons

I definetly hope that Cavs will claim the Eastern Finals. LeBron's games are "eye-candy" for all of us back in Europe!!!

Cool Re: Eastern Conference Finals - Cavs vs. Pistons

The Pistons are too deep. Cavs might not even get a game.

I'm gonna go the other way in this one. Pistons are too lackadazical (sp?). Cavs win in 6.

I say the Cavs win in 6. Without Wallace beating up Z, he should be a bigger factor.

How do you guys think a team with Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace, Tayshawn Prince, are going to lose to a 1-man team?

I just don't see it happening. Pistons are just too good for the Cavs.

Re: Eastern Conference Finals - Cavs vs. Pistons

That is what the thinking was last season when the Cavs took them to 7 games. The Pistons lost a major piece of the puzzle with the loss of Wallace. The Cavs have improved from last season. Hughes is healthy, they found a scoring option in Sasha, and Gibson has been a huge pickup from the draft.

Cavs are up at the half in Game 1. According to what I could actually make out on ESPN, they held Detroit to 30-some points on about 30-some percent shooting. That's a good start for this supposed "one-man team". Their defense has been impressive.

Disappointing loss. Lebron's getting buried in the media for passing to open teammates. Go figure.

He is in a no win situation. If he would have taken the forced shots, he would have been criticized for hogging the ball.

Still too bad Donyell could not hit that shot.

Yeah, its like Mike Greenberg said. People expect LeBron to be MJ and every great player in NBA history all rolled into one. He's a great player and was really in a no-win situation last night. He played within the team offense, though, and like Mike Brown said, Marshall was so wide open he could've had a cup of coffee before taking that shot. Really should have hit it too. Still got six more games to win four, though. Cavs aren't out of it yet.

Right before that he passed off to Z for an easy jumpshot. He missed that too. It would have tied the game. They just don't know how to close out games yet.

Cavaliers Not in Foul Mood Despite 0-2 Deficit

LeBron James laughed when asked about the gauze bandage covering a nasty scratch on his left forearm.

Re: Cavaliers Not in Foul Mood Despite 0-2 Deficit

The Cavs have kept each game close but come up short in the end, so now they're facing a tremendous uphill battle -- one I don't think they can win, unfortunately. For the record, I think LeBron should've gotten a foul call at the end of Game 2, but whatever. I've said it before and I'm not changing my tune because it's a team I like: championship teams don't let themselves get in situations where one play affects the entire outcome of the game.
