The 82-game NBA schedule can be a total grind, but if there is one advantage to the frequency of games, it’s that a team can get the bad taste of a loss out of its mouth in relatively short order.
That was the case on Friday night, as the Cavaliers took out some frustration from Thursday night’s heartbreaker in Miami on the Bobcats, clobbering Charlotte by 20 – 101-81 – before a sold-out crowd at The Q.
Cleveland jumped on Charlotte early, allowing 19 points in the first quarter and 15 points in the second as the Cavaliers essentially went wire-to-wire over Bernie Bickerstaff’s scrappy squad. Charlotte led by two – 15-13 – late in the first, but Larry Hughes’ three-pointer less than a minute later gave the Wine and Gold a lead they would not relinquish.
"We just came out and took care of business," said LeBron James. "Even though we got in real late, we came in with a business attitude and took care of business."
