CLEVELAND (AP) -- LeBron James longs for the NBA's old bounce. He's already tired of the league's new composite game ball.
"It's not a good basketball," the Cleveland Cavaliers' superstar forward said. "It kind of feels like a basketball you buy for your kids at Christmas or something."

King James seems to dislike the new ball the NBA is playing with...anyone out there played with the new ball?...Any other stars speaking out about it?

Just about everyone has ripped the new ball, except for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Shaq blasted it, I think Nash did, and I'm sure there were others but names are escaping me. I'm starting to wonder if that has anything to do with scoring being down so far this year. Did you see some of those scores yesterday? Multiple teams putting up sub-20 point quarters.

So why are we using the children ball again?...I mean it can't be just to please a group like PETA right?...What am I missing in all this?...surely they tested the ball with NBAers before hand right?

I, and I am sure to a person in here all of you can remember playing with a ball that was almost unrecognizable as a basketball growing up. Time for these guys to do the same, and grow up. They can't shoot to begin with, the vast majority of these players. At least the new ball now gives them an excuse.

Legend is going old school on us...hey, it will bring back the era of the 1,000 rebound a season center...hell Wilt once had over 2,000...so its okay by me if they play with a flat ball...

Bud Selig will be looking into investigations around possible ball "juicing" in the NBA.

I bought one of the new basketballs and have played with it many times now...to keep it frank I hate the feel of it and I just cant get use to it its just not like the traditional leather ball...i feel bad for guys who use this ball as a professional and wo are expected to perform with it
