Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have re-signed free agent offensive lineman Seth McKinney to a one-year contract.
McKinney started the first eight games of the 2007 season at right guard for the Browns before he was placed on injured reserve with a torn labrum.
When Ryan Tucker moved in to McKinney’s spot the rest of the season and played well there, and when Cleveland signed free agent Rex Hadnot after the season, it was generally assumed that McKinney wouldn’t be back in Cleveland. But he’s back, and Browns General Manager Phil Savage says he has a chance at re-gaining his spot in the starting lineup.
“At this point, we feel we have
seven starters competing for five positions,” Savage said.
