| Re: Cleveland signs free agent S Pace Here's another one of those good kid / underdog stories we all love so much. This kid Pace played safety for Vandy for three years, but when asked to play corner his senior year to help out the team, he did so with no thought whatsoever towards his own pro aspirations. Well, after seeing him during rookie camp over the weekend, the Browns were impressed enough with his play to sign him and let him try to win a spot on the team as a safety.
"I wasn’t concerned at the time with professional football, because I didn’t think I had the opportunity to do that," he told Nashville City Paper reporter Brett Hait. "I made the move to help the team. It helped me learn a lot more about defense... I know there is a long road ahead and that the odds aren’t good for me, but I’m just glad to be where I am. I’m thankful that God has given me this opportunity."
Good luck, kid. I hope you make it! |
