| Derek Anderson trade rumors Let the Derek Anderson trade rumors begin. "If anybody's interested in him, we'll just have to see how it goes," coach Romeo Crennel told the Cleveland Plain Dealer yesterday. "Sometimes people can make you an offer and you can say, 'No, I think I'm going to stick with what I've got.' Sometimes they make you an offer and you say, 'Oooh!' So we'll see how it goes." I can't help but think trading him and handing the reigns over to Quinn would be a colossal mistake. cleveland.com: Everything Cleveland

| Re: Derek Anderson trade rumors "If it aint broke, dont fix it" It worked great this year and I think it would be a mistake to trade him also. This team looked good this year and I look forward to watching them next year. |

| Re: Derek Anderson trade rumors I don't see why the Browns don't keep Anderson for another season and let Quinn develope for another year. The Browns could just let Anderson go after this upcoming season then turn it over to Quinn. |

| Re: Derek Anderson trade rumors Quinn is our future here in cleveland. Derek had 2 games with a rating over 100 and those were against winless teams at the time. He forces throws that he should never make. He had 29 td's, and thats great, but not so great when you throw 19 picks in 15 starts. Also, being a die hard... He may have helped us this year, but I am not one to say he is the reason we got 10 wins. Our line is one of the best in the NFL, and Jamal Lewis had a 200+ yard game and another game where he rushed for 4 rushing td's. Derek is a Nervous wreck out there, and I dont care for his mentality either. When asked about the 4 interceptions he threw against cincinatti, he said" Not that bad, I have thrown 6 before". Thats not a CHAMPIONS mentality. Quinn would strive for perfection so badly if he ever threw 4 picks, and would come back hard. Dereks Qb rating was 17th in the NFL.... Trust me as the single biggest browns fan alive, Derek should be traded and we should go after a defensive line....Haynesworth and Jared Allen are who I would pursue. |

| Re: Derek Anderson trade rumors Welcome to GoTeamsGo, and thanks for your comments! I do have to disagree with one thing - Anderson took a lot of heat for those comments, but that's exactly what I want out of my quarterback. I don't want him getting down on those INTs and overthinking every through. Brush it off and come back strong, playing like you've always played. Anytime you start dwelling on picks, it adversely affects your mental game. |

That is what you want a QB to be like. As soon as the game is over, don't dwell on mistakes. Try to learn from them. He alway seems pretty cool to me in game situations. |

Still, look at Manning early on, or Favre...both threw interceptions while trying to complete passes...and move their teams...all part of the game...especially if you are hitting on 29 Tds... Still, trade the bum, I want Quinn...

| Re: Derek Anderson trade rumors Exactly. Like I said, that was my reaction too. I couldn't believe the media was giving him grief for saying that. What do you want him to do - get obsessed with those INTs and second guess every throw for the rest of his career? No! Put it out of your mind, kid, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start flinging the pigskin around like nothing happened. |

| Here's some interesting stats, maybe open up some eyes to the fact that Anderson is not a "star"... 56.5 Completion percentage only Eli Manning, Trent Edwards, Cleo Lemmon and Rex Grossman had lower Completion percentages. 19 INTs, which ties him for 29th best in the league. His 82.5 QB rating is good for 17th in the NFL behind "stars" like Sage Rosenfels. In probably the biggest game of the year, the second Cincinnati game, he bombed. I don't think many Browns fans need to be reminded of his 4 picks and abysmal 53.4 QB rating. This situation has been compared to the San Diego Chargers' Drew Brees-Philip Rivers situation in the '06 off season by some websites. The current Browns situation though is much different, Brees was a winner, he made the Pro Bowl, took the Chargers into the playoffs, and had a QB rating over 100. The Chargers had a choice between a legitimate Pro Bowl QB and an unproven 1st-rounder. The Browns have a choice between an over-hyped QB, who blew their shot at the playoffs, and an unproven 1st-rounder. I say trade 'em! Last edited by Lefty Noob : 01-12-2008 at 06:45 AM. | Re: Derek Anderson trade rumors In all reality you should pay more attention to the sidelines and even right after he throws a pick (which happens often). He is always smiling after a pick, you dont see a TOP quarterback in the NFL doing that. Watch Manning, Brady, or even and i hate to say it Big Ben they all show dissapointment when they make a mistake and they share one more thing that DA will never get... A Ring. Deal Anderson and let the Quinn era start. |
