Quinn Era Coming

The obvious meaning of the news that quarterback Ken Dorsey is back in Cleveland is that the Browns are getting ready to begin the Brady Quinn era sooner rather than later.
Quinn and Dorsey forged a strong friendship, to the point that Quinn openly bemoaned the decision of the team to release Dorsey after the preseason.
Now, after starter Charlie Frye didn't make it for a full half and backup Derek Anderson didn't fare much better, it appears that Dorsey will be back to help accelerate Quinn's preparation.
If/when Dorsey is re-signed, the Browns could carry four quarterbacks. Or they could try to trade Frye or Anderson. Or they could cut one of them.
Bottom line -- this move means that Quinn will be playing, soon.

In the aftermath of a 34-7 drubbing against Pittsburgh in Sunday's season opener, Cleveland coach Romeo Crennel didn't rule out Quinn making his NFL debut this week against Cincinnati.
This from the Associated Press. Well, hope the kid's ready to take his licks, because it's not like he's going to have much of a team around him.

Cool Re: Quinn Era Coming

This team is a disaster. The GM and the coach are not on the same page at all. I think they should just put Quinn in and get him experience.

Naw...you wait out the first five defenses that are tough and insert him after...no use getting the crap beat out of your franchise's future.

This makes sense. He most certainly will get beat up otherwise.

Yep, but hey, let the Browns cave, put him in and get him killed. They'll be drafting another QB by 2010.

Re: Quinn Era Coming

You what this is exactly like the Notre Dame QB suitian. They had their Notre Dame it was Calussen the Browns it was Quinn But they started the guy supposedly gave them the best chance to win Notre it was Jones Cleveland it was Frye then next week that guy is gone Frye was traded Jones may switch positions then have an awful backup come in Notre Dame it was Sharply Cleveland it was Anderson the only way they could be more similar is if Quinn starts vs. the Bengals

Which he might. And if he doesn't start, it's likely he'll play.

I'm not sure he's the guy who gives them the best chance to win right now, though. That might be Anderson.

If Anderson gives them the best chance to win then why was Frye the starter in the first place

Well, I only say Anderson gives them the best chance BECAUSE of last week's game - he was the only one to lead them to any points.
