Quinn disagrees with Browns decision?

Browns QB Brady Quinn was asked if he agrees with General Manager Phil Savage's statement that it's unrealistic for him to be ready for the opener. "No, I don't," Quinn said. "I feel that I'd love to be under center and play, or start, in the opener. But it's not my decision. I feel that way because I'm a competitor. Any one of us would feel the same way." -- Cleveland Plain Dealer

Re: Quinn disagrees with Browns decision?

I voted yes, they wouldnt have drafted him if they were confident in frye or orton, both have had chances and have failed..put the rookie in..

I haven't been at practice so I don't know. But rarely do franchises feel safe in putting a rookie out their on opening week. Of course if the starters fall apart, Quinn could get some playing time.

Re: Quinn disagrees with Browns decision?

He's not ready. Week 6 or so, he can ride in on his white horse and save the day, but he needs more time to learn the offense. Don't forget he missed a lot of camp due to his holdout - I definitely think it's in his best interest to hold a clipboard and watch from the sidelines for at least the first quarter of the season.

so you'd rather take your chances on frye who had 10 td's and 17 int's last season?

sure Quinn isnt fully ready but Id rather have him in than frye.. holding a clipboard on the sidleline isnt gonna help him get experience, he has to get out there and play, thats how you get experience..

You're missing the point. Quinn isn't ready to play. I don't want him playing before he's ready, mentally, because it could ruin his confidence and/or he could make a costly mistake that gets him hurt. Cleveland's not a serious playoff contender this year - there's no call for them to rush their future franchise quarterback into the game this early into his career. Take your time, and wait until you're sure he's ready.

Re: Quinn disagrees with Browns decision?

If i am the Browns he should not start becuase he is the best QB now that team right now but Pittsburgh Baltimore New England and Oakland all have great defenses. So after the bye week for Brady

Re: Quinn disagrees with Browns decision?

I would be all for sitting him if there was a better QB ahead of him that was a veteran he could learn from. The QBs ahead of him now can only teach him what not to do. It will not benefit him too much to be kept on the bench.
