| Quinn won't start in Week 1 Despite his stellar play in two preseason games, first-round pick Brady Quinn is not in the mix to start for the Cleveland Browns in the season opener, according to a report on the News-Herald Web site. Charlie Fry and Derek Anderson are still competing to start in the Sept. 9 opener against the Steelers. General Manager Phil Savage put an end to any speculation Quinn could take command of the starting job by Week 1. "It's unrealistic for Brady to be in the mix for the opener," Savage told the News-Herald after the first quarter of Saturday night's game at Denver. Coach Romeo Crennel stirred speculation last week when he said he wanted the Steelers to have to prepare for two quarterbacks, according to the report. He identified Frye as one, but he said the other one was "Yes." Quinn completed 7 of 11 passes for 81 yards against the Broncos. Frye started and went 5-of-7 for 68 yards and Derek Anderson was 7-of-9 for 74 yards. "All three quarterbacks played pretty decent tonight," said Crennel. After missing 11 days in a contract holdout, Quinn is 20-of-31 for 236 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, albeit mostly against backups.
