Yep, Quinn wants a "fair" contract, but life ain't always fair. Sign for less and then go out there and earn more.

Sure, he can accept that, just pay him the going rate for the second best or 1B, QB gets these days while you are at it.

I doubt it. That would place all the power in the hands of the NFL...and you would create some really, really, really, bad feeling in a guy you are tapping to lead your team.

Guys, your QB, for better or worse is gonna lead your team...you don't pay a CEO or GM less than you do a factory worker...you just don't...because the overall value to the company is far greater...

Like the Browns ain't gonna sell a bunch of Quinn jeresey's or get more season ticket holders because of him...of course they are...then pay him what he is worth...OR...pay him 22nd pick money and a cut of the % of ticket sales and jeresy sales he generates...Either way, he is not worth 22 pick money...his value is greater...and last I checked we are a capitalist society.

I'm not saying he won't be a good QB he will be a great QB but he is still the 22nd pick and he needs to be payed like the 22nd pick.

How do you figure his value is greater than 22nd pick money? If it was, he would've gone higher than that. There were teams out there who had a need at quarterback and a shot to take him. They chose not to, and to me, that speaks volumes about where the NFL projects his value to be. Now, they might be wrong - GMs have missed on some great QBs. But the onus is on Quinn to go out there and prove them wrong. If he's as good as everyone says he is, he'll earn back the money ten-fold.

Dude, the Browns will make more money off him then they will off of Thomas...If it were you, what would you do?...take the 22nd pick money?...come on!...he can take a hit and be out of football tomorrow...hold out for what he is worth...which is 1-5 money.

Give him 22 pick money and put incentives in for years 4 and 5 saying if he starts blah blah he gets a raise but not right away

Fat chance...I don't think the Browns are going to say to the fans...hey, if we sign Quinn for less, we will lower them ticket prices for you...no the Browns are going to say, we have us a franchise QB hike the prices and bring on the playoff money.

Lets get real with this...a QB rated #2 in the draft, coming from Notre Dame, and having a fan base in the region WILL NEVER sign for 22nd pick money...nor should he...Quinn should sit!

If the Browns intended to pay him 1-5 money they would've taken him #3 overall instead of Thomas. It ain't gonna happen. What should Quinn earn? Add JaMarcus' Russell's salary to Kevin Kolb's salary. Divide by two. That's what Brady Quinn's worth - right inbetween the first QB taken and the third QB taken.

Ha..ha...that' funny...Kolb can't generate the revenue that Quinn can...it's economics...Should Williams be mad that Bush got more money?...no...why?..Bush is a draw...

Come on man...it's economics!

Look, if Brady Quinn goes out in his first game, throws four first half picks, and then gets benches for the season, how much of a draw is he then? Draft picks are gambles. The higher you take a guy, the more confidence you have that he's going to be good, and thus the more money you invest in that gamble. You don't pass on a guy like Quinn at #3 just to come back later and pay him what you would've paid him had you taken him there. Clearly it has to be less or else the entire NFL rookie salary structure's going to blow up and go right now the toilet.

Just because Quinn can make you money does not mean he should be paid like a top 5 pick

Won't happen...a) that is not much of a try out...anyone remember Bradshaws start? b) The team will give him a long enough tenure to justify the contract c) Tickets and jersey's would be sold by then, so they would be part way to a recovery.

No gamble at all if you can generate revenue...if you can't it's a gamble...William at #1 last year was a gamble...Leinart, Young or Bush at #1 not a gamble...Jay Cutler from Vandy at #1 would have been a gamble...Economics!...that's all...some can generate revenue some can't.
