Top flop in 2006
Charlie Frye, QB — Some relatively desperate owners may have taken a flyer on Frye later in their draft, thinking he may prosper after learning quite a bit in his rookie year. It may not have been his fault (with poor playcalling), but the 10-to-17 TD-to-INT ratio probably only helped a small fraction of his owners.
Who will surprise in 2007?
Charlie Frye, QB — Insert Brady Quinn in here if he wins the job, but a popular misconception exists about the Cleveland offensive line. Some pundits believe the running game will improve with the additions of Steinbach and Thomas, and it very well may. But Thomas and Steinbach aren't really maulers; they're better pass blockers than run blockers, meaning there is a better chance the passing game will actually improve. Frye or Quinn may not be blindsided by a defender as often, and they could both use their scrambling abilities if they can see protection breaking down on the right side of the line. Look for increased production with a bit more time to survey the field.
