Quinn stops in to see the Browns
NBCSports.com, MN - 6 hours ago
BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn dressed in a light orange shirt for his visit to the Cleveland Browns. If he gets his wish, he'll soon have a matching orange helmet.

Quinn, who grew up in Dublin, Ohio, has said he wants to play for the Browns, the team he rooted for as a kid. On Thursday, he spent a few hours touring the team's headquarters and interviewing with coaches.

He arrived in Cleveland on Wednesday night and was taken to dinner by club officials.

The Browns have the No. 3 pick in this month's NFL draft, and they could use it to select Quinn, regarded as the second-best QB prospect behind LSU's JaMarcus Russell.

I'm sure there would be a lot of happy Browns fans if Cleveland decided to draft the ex-Irish QB.

There would also be a lot of unhappy browns fans. They are about equally split on who they want out of the top 4.

True, true... I know a lot of people aren't ready to bail on Frye yet, and they still have need at RB behind Lewis and on the o-line.

I am hearing Johnsons name a lot now. They are saying the Browns should take the best player available instead of filling a need.

If they got Johnson it would really spread the field. How could they cover Edwards, Johnson, and K2?

I agree. I think he is one of the two they should try to draft. I don't think they could go wrong with Quinn or Peterson. It will be a tough choice if they are both still available, but I would have to go with a QB.

Re: Brady Quinn visits Browns

I like Johnson. He's far and away the best player in the draft. The only problem is, a good WR only touches the ball ~8 times a game, let's say, if the QB can get the ball to him. A good RB gets 20-25 touches a game. Would Johnson have enough on an impact on the Browns to be worth the pick?
