| Browns sign RB Jamal Lewis Tremendous signing for the Cleveland Browns, as they snag free agent RB Jamal Lewis, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens. The Browns signed Lewis to a one-year deal, and should instantly be able to improve the league's worst rushing offense of a year ago. I'm stunned, but it's a great signing.

Re: Browns sign RB Jamal Lewis SIGH! I keep telling people that Jamal Lewis has nothing left and never was the same after that knee injury but does anyone listen? NOOOOOOOOO!!! If he couldn't run behind the Ravens line I can only imagine what he's gonna be like behind the Browns line. Bad move.

Re: Browns sign RB Jamal Lewis Nah... I mean, Lewis, like him or not, is an upgrade from what they have now at the position. And Cleveland needs to try something -- anything -- to improve that worst-in-the-NFL running game. Of course, now that they have Lewis... can they do something about that offensive line, puh-leeze?

I just don't think it's much of an upgrade. Again, if this runner's name was John Smith, and averaged 3.5 yards a carry the last 2 years, you might say this was an awful trade. This is going to be like Edgerrin James going to the Cardinals. A running back on the downside of his career going to a team with a bad offensive line.

Re: Browns sign RB Jamal Lewis I agree the injury brought his numbers down and hes not producing 2000+ yds like in 2003 but c'mn he still ran for 1,132 yds.. Droughns ran for 758 yds so I would say yes this is an upgrade for cleveland..
