| Re: Browns drafting Brady Quinn? I hope not. Granted, quarterback is a need, but I am hesistant to pull the trigger right now. Frye was ugly to watch at times this season, but he still has the desire and work ethic that give hope. Personally, I think drafting Calvin Johnson or trading down are the best options. |

| Re: Browns drafting Brady Quinn? Well, if we were talking Adrian Peterson, I might be willing to gamble, because the reward part of the risk-reward scenario would be potentially higher. But Quinn just isn't a big game QB. I don't think he has the tools to succeed in the National Football League. Johnson is the safest pick, Peterson would be second best. QB should not be a priority, not at #3. Wait till the second round and see who you can get there.

| Re: Browns drafting Brady Quinn? There's risk taking, and then there's blowing your entire paycheck on lottery tickets. Drafting Quinn falls into the latter category, not the former. I'm all for calculated risks, but this would be a truly foolish move. |

You are placing way too much stock on one little LSU game... the kid has the right stuff...right now he is not the darling that is Johnson, but good QBs are not made in the scouting combine...Quinn is a bit of risk...but tell me with a straight face that Charlie Fyre will lead the Browns into the playoffs?... Roll the die baby, Roll the die! |

| Re: Browns drafting Brady Quinn? Now see, I should be insulted that you think my opinions are based entirely off the LSU game. I watched every Irish game this season. His performances against UCLA, USC and Michigan State were pretty lousy as well. I'm not thrilled with his decision making, and he has shown a tendancy to get rattled under pressure. He's not gonna be a Ryan Leaf-type bust or anything, but anyone expecting him to be the second coming of Tom Brady just because Weis was his coach is sorely mistaken. |

But yes, I would say that while the LSU game didn't totally form your opinion, I would be hard press to say it did not strongly color it... You were high on this kid for the past year, and now he is what was the word?..."as a good a risk as a lotto ticket?"...and yeah, I would bet a second Tom Brady over a Ryan Leaf...Weis has nothing to do with it...Quinn played on an over rated team...Brady got lucky to land on the Patriots... I also think for the ton of expectations and Heisman hype the guy had while on a so-so team, he handled things pretty well. |

| Re: Browns drafting Brady Quinn? Hmm... yeah, I see where in another thread I said that he looked to be the "real deal" -- surprises me, really, that I said that, especially since after the Michigan game I said "He's struggling this season - I don't know if the pressure's getting to him, or opposing defensive coaches have figured out that you can rattle him with the blitz, or what. But he just doesn't seem like the same QB to me." Bottom line is he needs to go to a team with a good o-line (not Cleveland) and he needs a QB coach who can help him deal with the blitz. Cleveland would be best served trading down out of this slot and snagging extra picks. |
