Re: Browns will pick third

Simple and to the point - Cleveland won the coin toss and they will get the #3 overall pick in the April draft. So if JaMarcus Russell goes to Oakland and Joe Thomas goes #2 overall to either Detroit or Arizona (pending trade), does Cleveland take Calvin Johnson, Brady Quinn, Adrian Peterson, or someone else out of the third slot?

If I were them, I take Peterson. They already have enough invested in Frye. If he has a line, he should get better, and do they want to start over at QB again?? They have already used first round picks on K2 and Braylon Edwards. They need a better running game. Peterson and Droughns would be a good combo.

Re: Browns will pick third

My Big Board for the Browns at #3:

1.) Calvin Johnson | WR | Georgia Tech
2.) Alan Branch | DE/NT | Michigan
3.) Joe Thomas | OT | Wisconsin
4.) Adrian Peterson | RB | Oklahoma
5.) JaMarcus Russell | QB | LSU
6.) Brady Quinn | QB | Notre Dame
7.) Gaines Adams | OLB | Clemson
8.) Adam Carriker | DE | Nebraska
9.) Levi Brown | OT | Penn State
10.) Darrelle Revis | CB | Pittsburgh

Getting number three is potentially huge. Tampa Bay has made it known that they are all about Calvin Johnson. Now, Cleveland has to be the partner of all teams that want to trade up and grab him, because Detroit won't let the Buccaneers jump us since they know we value Joe Thomas highly. Similarly, the Raiders won't trade back to the Buccaneers because Savage is the biggest JaMarcus Russell fan in the NFL and they would lose their secondary option in Calvin Johnson.

An Edwards Johnson combo would be something though...

Trading down... I think I like that option best. With the uncertain status of Bentley and Winslow already coming into the season, I think the Browns have too many holes to fill. Pick up some extra picks and get some healthy, hopefully talented bodies on the field.
