Antonio Bryant

Well, the Browns were looking great at the wide receiver position with Antonio Bryant and Joe Jurevicius lining up 1-2. However, the 49ers went and picked up Bryant shortly after losing Brandon Lloyd - a WR, not a linebacker... , to the Redskins.

So, hey. Now maybe Alex Smith will still have a receiver to throw his 1 TD to this year and not his 11 INT.

Re: Antonio Bryant

No big loss for the Brownies. With Jurevicius and Braylon Edwards, they're set at WR. Personally, I think Bryant is a big drop off from Lloyd, and both are more or less malcontents, so you're not even moving up in the character department. Not sure this is a good signing, but as you say, they need SOMEONE for Smith to throw to.

Re: Antonio Bryant

I know Kellen Winslow is a forgotten player. Lost first season due to an injury on an onside kick and a lost second season to plain stupidity. I'm sure motorcycle stunts performed by the "star boyz" look easy, but hey Kellan, leave it to the pros next time.
Anyway, I don't see any reason why he would not return this season unless he joined the circus this off season and broke his neck after being shot out of a cannon. Maybe the "soldier" finally has some brains to go with his armour.
It does look like the Browns will have plenty of people to throw the ball to but who is going to throw it? Charlie Frey? C'mon.
MAC quarterbacks have the ability to wow you in the first season and then return to MAC QB status. Chad Pennington, Byron Leftwich, and I predict the future will show that Ben Rothlisberger is far from the second coming of John Elway.
It was a shock to me that the Browns did not make a play for John Kitna.

Re: Antonio Bryant

Well, let's give Frye a chance. Have him go into the season as the #1 guy and see what he can do. Heck, maybe he'll surprise everyone and be an outstanding quarterback. One never knows.
