Browns promote two coaches, hire another

CLEVELAND The Cleveland Browns have promoted two assistant coaches and hired the Cowboys' running backs coach.

Cleveland running backs coach Dave Atkins was promoted to senior offensive assistant coach after two years with the Browns.

Third-year quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer was given the additional title of assistant head coach.

The Browns hired Dallas running backs coach Anthony Lynn, who will hold the same position in Cleveland. He also coached quarterbacks in Dallas for two years.

Browns hire three assistant coaches

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Browns continued to rebuild their coaching staff yesterday, hiring Steve Marshall as offensive line coach, Tom Myslinski as strength and conditioning coach and Alan DeGennaro as assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Marshall was offensive line coach for the Houston Texans from 2004-05 after many seasons coaching lines at the collegiate level.

Myslinski spent three seasons with the Browns as a part-time assistant strength coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2002-04.

God help the Browns, they now have the former Texans offensive line coach.

Wow...why anyone would bring in a Houston Texans offensive line coach is just crazy. They've lasted since 2002 and have never had a stable o-line.
