Cool Is Crennel on the way out?

Cleveland is awful. Can Romeo survive this?

Re: Is Crennel on the way out?

He deserves another year. Half of his best players are on the IR, and there's been a rash of staph infections that have hit the team as well. If he can get guys like Bentley healthy, add a player here and a player there, and it's a vastly different team in 2006. Coaching isn't the problem; they just don't have the talent on the field to execute gameplan.

If the Browns lose again...this week to the Chiefs I wonder if Crennel will be forced out. Cleveland is just a bad team, it's not all Crennel's fault.

Re: Is Crennel on the way out?

Bad team? Maybe. But they're a banged-up team, too. Lots of talent on the injury list this season. I know injuries are never an excuse, but I think Romeo has this team headed in the right direction, and I'd like to see what he could with everybody 100%.

Re: Is Crennel on the way out?

It is all over the news lately that Crennel is not losing his job even though talk radio is talking about it. There was an interview with management and they said they are behind Crennel.

I think they should let him ride out his contract to see what he can do. If they hire yet another new coach, that will be another new direction and more losing seasons unitl the coach gets his system in place. Crennel may be losing this year, but the injuries to the O line have been terrible. The running game is gone. Frye has no time to throw the ball. I am not sure right now, but earlier in the season they were on pace to break the record for sacks allowed. Let's see if he addresses anything in the draft and if he will hire a true Offensive coordinator. They got rid of Carthon and put in a interim coordinator. They have some talent, but are not getting to use them from injury and poor play calling.

Re: Is Crennel on the way out?

I had this thought the other day, what if Crennel got fired and the Irish were able to pick him up as defensive coordinator. Reunite Weis and Crennel, I know it will never happen but man that would be awesome....
