Re: Crennel addresses penalty calls

This game more than any other showed how ridiculous some of these new "protect the quarterback" rules are getting. Flagging a guy for blocking the QB on an interception return? Stupid, stupid, stupid! And it led to a Cleveland defender backing off a sack later in the game for fear that it would be deemed an illegal hit. Not saying the refs and these idiotic new rules cost Cleveland the game, but they sure didn't help matters.

Re: Crennel addresses penalty calls

This is a terrible rule and always has been. If they throw flags for blocking plays they should throw them when the QB manipulates the rule. The QB will pretend to go out of bounds and when the defender backs off to not get a roughing the passer penalty they start running again to pick up more yardage.
