Browns offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon is the one taking the heat for Cleveland's 1-4 start.

According to this story, "Crennel declined comment about the performance of offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon, who has been blamed by fans and the media for the Browns' difficulty finding the end zone... Carthon's play-calling has been suspect at times. His decision to have rookie fullback Lawrence Vickers run a halfback option pass on third-and-inches Sunday may have been the defining moment for the Browns' offensive futility this season."

So what do you think? Is it time for the Browns to change up their offensive playcalling a bit? Do they need to sack Carthon and bring in a new coordinator to run the show?

I haven't seen Cleveland play this year so I couldn't tell you. But it sounds like scapegoating to me? If Crennel doesn't like the play calling, start having a say in it.

ESPN is reporting that Carthon has been fired. No word yet on a replacement.

That's the 3rd offensive coordinator who is a scapegoat this year.

I like the call...gutsy...the NFL needs more of these type of play...kind of guy who would call a flea flicker on 4th and inches...

I hear from some places Carthon resigned and from others, he was fired. I guess Crennel wanted his buddy to save some face publicly.
