Cleveland quarterback Derek Anderson needed to put forth a good showing in the Browns second exhibition game Saturday to remain in the race with Brady Quinn and it appeared that the former Oregon State star did just that.
Anderson, who went 0-for-2 with an interception last week during a 17-0 loss at Green Bay, led the Browns on a touchdown drive Saturday and finished the game 8 of 13 for 130 yards with one interception. On the touchdown drive, Anderson completed 3 of 4 passes for 58 yards. His interception came during a two-minute drill at the end of the first half.
Meanwhile, Quinn completed 3 of 5 passes for 29 yards. Last week he went 7 of 11 for 68 yards and threw one interception in the end zone.
Through two exhibition games both quarterbacks have looked unspectacular and the race would appear to be dead even, making next week's game at home against Tennessee pivotal for both.
