During spring practice at the end of his sophomore year, Jaron Brown began to grab the attention of college recruiters.

The recruiters were at Cheraw High to check out Braves’ end Cliff Matthews, but it quickly became apparent that Brown, a wide receiver and defensive back, also would be a star. Two years later, the Braves’ top wide receiver/defensive back is just days away from making his college choice.

“It’s my decision, and I’m not going to have anybody influencing me. It’s where I’m going to be for the next four years,” the 6-foot-2, 187-pound Brown said.
