The only option coach Tommy Bowden has ruled out for improving Clemson’s persistent special teams blunders is devoting more practice time to them. In each of their four weekly practice sessions, the Tigers spend a five-minute period each on punt protection and place-kicking. Another two to three periods are allocated to a rotation of punt block, kickoff return and kickoff coverage. All areas get work on three of the four days. “It’s something we do every day, just like brushing your teeth,” Bowden said.
