What happened to the Clemson offense?

What happened to that top-ranked Clemson Tiger offense on Thursday? How does a team averaging more than 40 points per game manage just one TD against Virginia Tech? Not to mention the fact that they could only muster 76 yards in the final three quarters, and went 3-and-out eight times! Unreal. Was it a case of the Va. Tech defense being that good, or was the Tiger O just sputtering?
