Tigers at Boston College

Clemson had a nice warm-up last week against Florida Atlantic, winning 54-6 as Tigers QB Willie Proctor went 13-20 for 166 yards and 3 scores. Now they travel to Boston College, and they will be without starting LB Anthony Waters, who tore the ACL in his left knee last week and is done for the season. BC, meanwhile, held on for a 31-24 win over Central Michigan last weekend, and according to the AP, "Eagles coach Tom O'Brien was unhappy with his team's performance as it let the Chippewas get back in the game after trailing 31-10 in the fourth quarter."

I'm predicting Clemson in this one, but it should be a close game, right?

NCAAF - Clemson Tigers/Boston College Eagles Recap Saturday September 9, 2006 - Yahoo! Sports
By JIMMY GOLEN, AP Sports Writer
September 9, 2006

BOSTON (AP) -- Jolonn Dunbar blocked an extra point in the second overtime, then L.V. Whitworth scored on a 6-yard run to help Boston College beat No. 18 Clemson 34-33 on Saturday -- the second consecutive year BC has beaten the Tigers in OT.

Ryan Ohliger, who missed a 36-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, kicked a 35-yarder on BC's first possession of overtime. Then, after Jad Dean's point after try was blocked on Clemson's second possession, Ohliger split the uprights for the game-winning PAT and BC (2-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) stormed the field to celebrate.

It was the first home victory over a ranked team for BC coach Tom O'Brien in 10 seasons at Chestnut Hill.
What went wrong here? Clemson outgained the Eagles 484-325 and fewer penalties, but came up on the short end of the stick. Tiger fans, what in the world happened to your team in this one?
