Janish forced back to the hill

Reds shortstop Paul Janish hoped there wouldn't be another night like this as the infielder took one for the Reds by throwing for an inning in rout.
This is the second time a position player has been called on to pitch for the Reds. He pitched the 8th inning of Cincinnati's 22-1 defeat by the Phillies.
Reds starter Johnny Cuerto only lasted two thirds of an inning.
May 6 during a 15-3 loss to the Brewers Janis pitched ninth inning. He gave up 5 runs. This time he allowed 6 runs including a grand slam to Jayson Werth.

Pathetic is more like it. Course I'm not a Phillies fan. Maybe then I would find it hilarious also.

Re: Janish forced back to the hill

well would you like the cowboys to beat the redskins by 3 points or by 42?

Re: Janish forced back to the hill

Sometimes position players are put on the mound because the picthing coach doesn't want to tire out any relievers in a game that is already over. However, if the score is 22-1? I think you have to try and stop the bleeding at some point.

You wont believe this, but I just want them to win.
A 42 point win would be kind of boring.

Re: Janish forced back to the hill

I had to cringe when I saw Janish pitching again. Poor Dusty may have to take up smoking again.
