| Re: Top Three Reds Franchise Players Rose and Bench are no brainers, for sure. Now as for the Joe Morgan vs. Frank Robinson debate. Robinson was a six-time All-Star with the Reds, the 1956 NL Rookie of the Year and the 1961 NL MVP while still in Cincinnati. Morgan spent most of his career with the Reds, going to 10 All-Star Games, winning two NL MVP awards and 1972 MLB All-Star Game MVP while in Cincy. So while Robinson may have been the overall better player, I agree with simon's decision to put Morgan on this list, because he had a better career with the Reds.

| Re: Top Three Reds Franchise Players Robinson spent 10 years in Cincy, Morgan 8. Frank hit .300 4 times with the Reds and had 4 100 RBI seasons. He won an MVP and a ROY with them. Morgan won 2 MVPs and hit .300 twice, for his entire career by the way. Robinson was a far superior hitter to Morgan in just about every facet except walks. I choose Robby.

| Re: Top Three Reds Franchise Players Robinson was a little before my time, so I am not sure where he SHOULD be on this list, but as a lifelong Reds fan I would choose 1. Johnny Bench- My all time favorite player. he got me watching baseball 2. Eric Davis- Eric the Red is a close second to Bench on my list. IMO that HR he hit against Oakland in the world series set the tone for that series 3. This is basically a tie between Larkin and Rose, but Larkin would probably edge it out because of personal reasons. Rose wasn't that friendly.

| Re: Top Three Reds Franchise Players As I said it was a personal list. Rose is a great player deserving to be in the HOF, but he tarnished his reputation. Larkin was a staple at SS, and played his whole career with the Reds. He was a team player and a leader on the team that won the world series. He was the Reds for the 90s in the free agency era where players changed teams like underwear. I know it was only one time in about a milion people that Rose met, but I didn't find him friendly and that sticks with a fan. |
