Corey Patterson has been optioned to the minor leagues....by his own request. He told Dusty Baker that he has to " get his act together".

Is this a good sign for him that he requested the demotion himself? He knows he has to work on his swing.

I think it's a great sign. He realizes there's a problem and wants to fix it. Here's hoping he's successful.

This is going to sound stupid, but I hope he can make another comeback as well, but just not for the Reds. I have always liked him as a player, but I don't trust him to be consistent. I hope the Reds can make a deal for him, and ship him out.

Corey was notoriously hard headed during his days with the Cubs and would never act on advise he was given by the hitting coaches. They tried to get him to change his approach, and he thought his approach was fine and never made the effort. I like that Corey took it upon himself, but he is what he is, a player that has no business being in MLB.
