The Reds announced all but officially that they will exercise the team option and bring back Adam Dunn for 2008. Reds beat writer John Fay wrote the franchise may look to give Dunn a new contract extension as well.

Dunn is still an imposing bat in the line-up but he strikes out WAAAAY too much. But I guess it's tough to forget about the power he brings to the line-up.

It's the only move. They couldn't let him walk.

They have picked up his option, but have not signed him to an extension as of yet. This was expected because as Empire stated they couldnt' let him walk.

It should also be noted that he now has a no-trade clause in the contract until mid June. After that he makes 10 teams he would be willing to be traded to. I still see him leaving if they can get enough prospects for him. It seems they are always looking to ship him out.

I'm expecting the Reds to make a move with him at the deadline. Some team will always look for a power bat.

There were several that were interested, but the Reds wanted too much for him. They wanted a starter and top prospects for him. I still see them making a move this off season for him. He has a no trade, but they could buy that out.
