| Re: Reds are just 1.5 games out? The Reds are getting decent pitching so far and are really pounding the ball. I don't know how far they can go with David Weathers as the closer, but it is nice while it lasts. 16-7 as I type this, with 43 RBI from second baseman Brandon Phillips and third baseman Edwin Encarnacion. They are both young, and if they can continue to put up even half of the numbers they have so far the Reds will be in great shape. griffey will be back soon, giving them arguably the best hitting outfield in the game with Adam Dunn , Griffey, and Austin Kearns. Brandon Claussen bounced back from his embarrassing outing vs. Milwaukee to defeat the Astros tonight. They gave Oswald his first loss. Rich Aurelia, the former Giant, is hitting so far, but they are getting nothing out of the catcher, LaRue, who is at .167. Weathers gave up 2 in the ninth, but he is 7-8 in saves this season. But when you loom att he central Division and see houston and St. Louis right there, I think it is only a matter of time before the Reds begin to fade; their pitching does not compare to those two teams. But it is good to see some life in Cincy. |
