Where do Reds need to improve?

Where's the one spot where the Cincinnati Reds definitely need to improve in 2008? Is it a big bat, starting pitching, bullpen help (who doesn't these days), better coaching, etc.

The Reds were in the thick of things in the Summer but fell out of it over the past month plus.

Re: Where do Reds need to improve?

I think they will be fine with the bats. They have pretty good starting pitching in a watered down league. They were absolutely horrible out of the bullpen. Their relief blew too many games after the starters left. I don't have the exact number but it was in the 20s earlier in the season. They need a complete overhaul in the bullpen. They kept recycling the same pitchers all season. Send them down then a few weeks later think they remembered how to pitch and call them back up.

Re: Where do Reds need to improve?

Well, they have the worst team ERA in the National League (4.99), so that looks like a good place to start.

Their bullpen is atrocious. Maybe it wasn't Jerry the whole time?
