Reds re-sign Marty Brennaman

So maybe it's not the world's most Earth-shattering signing, but the Cincinnati Reds have agreed to a new three-year deal with broadcaster Marty Brennaman. The 65-year-old Brennaman has been calling games on Cincinnati radio since 1974 and is a member of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame. Reds fans, glad to have him sticking around?

Re: Reds re-sign Marty Brennaman

I have been very very busy, or I would have posted this. It was the best news I have had all season with the Reds. I don't live in the Cincinnati area, so the only way to keep up on the games growing up was listening to Marty Brenneman and Joe Knuxall on the radio. I never used to miss a game. To me, he is to the Reds what Harry Carey was to the Cubs. This year has not been too great for the radio because they gave him new partners. Knuxall has not been too healthy and is basically retired. He does a couple game a year. His partners now are his son, Thom, or Jeff Brantley. I think they are grooming them to take over.
