| Re: Arroyo The Sox have got plenty of young pitching, all of whom are better than Arroyo. With Papelbon and Beckett, the Sox are set for years. We got some good years out of Arroyo, but he was far better in his first year in Boston than he was last year, and his k/9 suggested he was on the downslope. he was wildly inconsistent last season, not just from game to game but inning to inning.
I love when people forget to take into account the fact that it's much easier to pitch in the NL than the AL. Also, his homers wouldn't have mattered much with the Sox. Obviously only time will tell, but I think that will prove to be a win-win trade for both teams. |
