Junior passes Reggie Jackson

Ken Griffey Jr. passed Reggie Jackson on the all-time home run list yesterday, hitting his first dinger of the season to move into sole possession of 10th place in the Reds' 10-3 win over the Cardinals yesterday. "Last year, tying him, just my name and his name mentioned in the same breath was just overwhelming," Griffey told reporters afterwards. "To pass him, sometimes it's mindboggling because I didn't think when I started playing this game 19 years ago that I'd be anywhere close to where I am now." Congrats, kid, you're one of the best ever - and a sure fire Hall of Famer!

Hall of Famer first ballot...legit +500 homers do not grow on trees these days...the Kid has been clean all career...aside from a certain attitude some fans feel he has...great glove, ran well, super hitter, team leader...

Basically, he's everything that's great about baseball. Sorry if that sounds like too much hype, but the game needs more player like him.

As great as it was seeing him hit his 500 HR for the Reds, I too wish he would have stayed a Mariner. He put the club back when he signed. They overpaid and he has not produced even close to what they wanted.
