Kerry Ligtenberg to the Reds

It looks as if the Reds are trying anything to find a closer for next season. They signed Ligtenberg to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

He spent the last season in the Cubs farm system and saved 18 games in 53 appearances. What is wrong with him if he couldn't get into the train wreck of a bullpen in Chicago last year? What are the chances of him making the team as the closer? I only remember him as a reliever in Atlanta, and don't recall him being very good with them.

Re: Kerry Ligtenberg to the Reds

I remember 'ol Kerry. Probably moreso because of his sideburns more than anything else, lol. Sounds like the Reds are throwing you know what at the wall and seeing what sticks. You never know, but I wouldn't bet on Lightenberg being a MLB closer in 2007.

Cool Re: Kerry Ligtenberg to the Reds

That's the first thing I though of, the sideburns. Boy, Lightenberg is a reach. Who next, Mark Wohlers?

I hope not. They tried Wohlers once before.
