Reds Pitching Woes

Cincinatti lost 17-10 to Detroit yesterday.

Wow, I mean, just look at that score. I knew that the Reds had some questionable pitching, but this is insane. They put up 10 runs against the Tigers and LOST! And worst yet, their closer David Weathers gave up six of those runs. He faces 10 hitters, allowed five hits and plunked a guy -- all in the third inning. Guess that finger's not quite healed yet, eh?

Rumor has it Jose Rijo and Mario Soto are being asked to tryout again...Tom Seaver was asked as well, but he said it would hurt his Hall of Fame career at this stage...

Anyone ever check to see if Hod Eller and Harry "Slim" Sallee were cryogenically frozen.

If so, somebody should start thawin' them out...

Seriously, though, what are this teams options right now? I hear they want to deal an OF for a P, but no takers?

I know for a fact Tom Browning has another 20 win season in him for sure. But if the Reds can't lure him away from the golf course just yet I'm sure Danny Jackson could give them some quality innings.

What about Griffey? Couldn't he pitch?

Re: Reds Pitching Woes

Of course he can. What are you thinking, Ken "Grumpy" Jr. can do it all. Knock the ball out of the park, strike out 20 in a game, shag balls, retrieve foul balls from the stands, wash uniforms, sell popcorn, spin straw into gold, turn water into wine, stop bullets with his teeth.
In fact, he should have his own costume, complete with cape, funny mask, and utility belt. That uniform just makes him blend in, like he's some ordinary baseball player. He really needs more attention called to himself for all of his steller achievements.
