Ken Griffey Jr. Breaks Hand At Home

This guy is amazing lol. No specific details are released on exactly how he broke it but his throwing hand will be in a cast for up to three weeks.

The Club doesn't know for sure whether he'll be ready at the beginning of spring training.

The career that could have been... I was sure in the 90's that the lifetime homer record would belong to Kenny...now I am thinking A-Rod maybe.

Is Griffey gonna end up in Cooperstown?

Unless they move the darn thing and don't leave him a map...he will find his way in.

Yeah I thought so too it's just that Griffey as a Red hasn't worked out at all. His Mariners stats are what's getting him in. I doubt he'll be a first ballot either.

I could not disagree more. He is a lock for a first ballot. He was the most dominant player in the '90s.

Yep...first ballot guy...dominant and not caught up in the steroid issues...so he has a legit 500 dingers...

Along with his stats, Griffey has a PERFECT image and from my memory, has never been a nasty person to the media/fans/anyone.

A shame injuries overtook his career because he could have been 100x special then he was in Seattle.

Yeah, let me add to the Griffey lovefest going on here. Great player, great guy, and definitely has the worst luck with injuries. If Junior had remained healthy throughout his career, he would've already broken Aaron's home run record and we might just be calling him the greatest of all time.

Sounds like a first ballot to me...

In my mind he already is.

Just an update on his condition. He was examined by his doctor and his hand is healing as expected. He will be re examined in about 2 weeks.

I have never broken a bone, so I don't know how it would feel afterwards. I would imagine his hand will be weak. I don't know if he will be ready for the opening of spring training..

Broke my wrist once. Hurts like hell, and the hand is pretty much useless. Can't even carry a coffee cup in it.

An update on Griffey's wrist. He was examined again by doctors and they said he will be ready to go for spring training.

I have never broken a bone. Will his wrist be as strong as it was. he may not be as productive as he was.

At his age, I doubt he'll ever be 100% again, but it'll be good on most days. Cold may bother it, rain may bother it, things like that. But he should be more than functional with it once it heals, I would think.

Lefty .. please tell me that you are not a supervisor for some large government entity. If you can't hold a cup of coffee you'd be useless to the gov't. as a boss.

Seriously I hope Jr. makes it in on the first ballot. As noted he hasn't been in the steroid spotlight and in todays sports world that is becoming a rarity.
