Cincinnati drafts WR Jerome Simpson

With the 46th pick in the NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selects WR Jerome Simpson, Coastal Carolina. What's the word on this guy?

The word is the Bengals expect him to contribute immediately and replace Chris Henry as 3rd receiver and possibly Chad Johnson if Johnson continues to hold out.

Re: Cincinnati drafts WR Jerome Simpson

I've seen Jerome play many times, and he is money.

He isn't the fastest player on the field, won't be your punt return man, and isn't the explosive threat that DeSean Jackson is. That being said, however, J-Simp has an incredible jumping ability, and LARGE HANDS that catch everything that comes his way like he has permanent STICKUM on them. You might recall his unbelievable leaping, one-handed catch in 2006 that made ESPN as the play of the week. Believe it or not, that play wasn't a stretch for him at all. He made tons of circus catches REGULARLY, and you can count on him to do it for the Bengals. And, his character will only help in Cincinnati.
