Bengals reject offer for Chad Johnson

The Cincinnati Bengals turned down an offer from the Washington Redskins for 2 first round picks. The Redskins offered reportedly offered the No. 21 this year and a conditional 3rd in 2009. It could have risen to a first round if Johnson and the Redskins met performance milestones.

Is this a good offer for a temper tantrum throwing two year old-like player or not? Even one with Chad's ability?

I have to think it's the conditional third that's holding it up... if it was guaranteed to be two first-round picks, the Bengals would be fools to pass.

thats what I thought too. That 3rd conditional throws a big wrench into the whole works.

Definitely not for a third rounder. The Bengals need more than a first rounder and a 3rd for one of the best WRs in the game.

I dont know seahawker, but sometimes it seems like the louder and the more they say something, the more likely it is that they mean the exact opposite no matter who it is.

Not is only is Mike Brown incredibly selfish, he is an idiot, the Pats got Moss for a 4th rounder, if you can get rid of Chad and get possibly two first round picks, you jump all over it.

Re: Bengals reject offer for Chad Johnson

Now see, this is a really, really stupid move by the Bengals. They've turned down three offers (Redskins, Cowboys and Eagles) and told the teams Johnson absolutely will not be traded. Instead, they're content just to let him sit out. Is punishing him REALLY more important than taking such drastic steps to improve your team? I just can't see being that vindictive. Trade him, get the two #1 picks and work on becoming playoff contenders again.

It's the NFL...there are no gurantees...not sure they will get a better offer...also a 21st overall is low for a 1st...
