All along Ive heard that everybody liked Cinci's star receiver, Chad Johnson, and that his taunting practices were all in good fun with no ill will intended.

It seemed fans, coaches, players, even Bill Belichick, everyone seemed to like this athlete. A players player.

Then there were television shots of him arguing with his quarterback last year, no problem it happens. Then there were his attempts to get traded in this years offseason.

Well, obviously he is not this great loveable guy. I just watched a video on you tube last night from an ex teammate of his, now with the Cleveland Browns, who saw Chad Johnson get into a fist fight, during halftime of a playoff game, with his receivers coach, then punch his head coach, Marvin Lewis, in the eye.

Chad Johnson is a real nice guy (cough, cough), as far as Im concerned you can add him to the long list of all the other diva receivers.

His rep's been tarnished for a long time now.
He was ok when the Bengals flying on top of the mountain, but once they started struggling he just lost it.

Just goes to show that these guys are appear arrogant on the field, truly are.

I wonder when folks are gonna get it that the on the field flashiness often hides a jerk!

Are you sure they're not? Seems like Palmer likes Houshmanzadeh better as a target. Johnson's expendable. Why are receivers the flamboyant ones as opposed to the other skill positions?

Well, they claim they're not. Marvin Lewis said a few weeks ago that he'd be a Bengal next season, period, end of story.

I dont know the answer to that but I do know it has been discussed in many different places. Bill Parcells always referred to it as "wide receiver syndrome"

Maybe Lewis is just keeping him on the team out of spite? He doesnt like CJ and he knows he doesnt want to be with the Bengals.

That would be a mighty foolish and expensive thing to do, though. I don't see that possible being the case. He must genuinely want him there.

No dont think that comes into play at all Seahawker.
One possibility is they are going to get rid of him at a later date.
Another one is Lewis has his head in the sand and thinks everything will be alright.
Another one could be he thinks CJ will settle down and be the receiver Lewis thinks he is.
