DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions traded Shaun Rogers to the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday for third- and fifth-round picks.

Detroit had been fielding offers for the talented but inconsistent defensive tackle and settled for the Bengals' offer of two selections in the middle of the NFL draft in April.

Rogers is among the most dominant defensive players in the league when he is motivated. But he failed to live up to expectations at times because of weight and off-the-field problems.

Maybe he will realize he has to change his ways and get motivated or he will be done playing.

Good move for the Bengals. If he plays up to his potential, they have found a run stopper.

From a football stand point, it's a great move for the Bengals. But the last thing they need is another player with "character flaws"

For some reason this deal fell through. Now its reported he has gone to the Browns.

Saw that there was some kind of "language error" in the trade paperwork. So I guess the Lions took advantage of it to take the better deal.
