| More rumblings about Chad Johnson Chad Johnson told ESPN last week that if he's the problem with the Cincinnati Bengals, he should be traded. He also complained that the Bengals were not vocal enough in supporting him while he was, in his mind, being unfairly portrayed as the team's problem. Team insiders speculate that this might be his agent Drew Rosenhaus' way of forcing a trade or a new contract If that's the case, coach Marvin Lewis made it clear this week that he isn't buying it. "He has to go back and accept what being a pro is, and that's part of it," Lewis said. "As I've said in the past, there will be no trade of Chad Johnson. I'll repeat it again." On a related note, Lewis downplayed but did not deny reports that the Bengals are interested in bringing back Hue Jackson, the former receivers coach who had such a good rapport with Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Jackson left to become offensive coordinator in Atlanta under Bobby Petrino, who resigned to go to Arkansas. All of the Bengals' current offensive coaches are signed for 2008, so Jackson probably would return only if one of them -- perhaps quarterback coach Ken Zampese -- takes a job elsewhere. I think they should trade him to Dallas, we have a good effect on the whiny...though the side effect is a few tears now and then. |
