marvin lewis does it again

Dexter Jackson is a typical Marvin Lewis free agent sign. Not big money like Archuleta, Chavous, or Milloy, all of whom make around 4 million a year. But a solid guy at around 2 million a year.
Solid run stoper that can get out into coverage when needed. I mean the guy was a Super Bowl MVP, and there are only 40 of them in the history of the game.
Consensus is that Washington has had the best free agency period. It certainly is without arugment that they have spent the most money in free agency, but that does not always translate into the best free agent period. Adam Archuleta is a great pickup, but in my opinon Dexter Jackson is better value. And in todays NFL, even with the new CBA and raised cap, it's always about value.
My only concern is with Madieu Williams and what this signing means with him.

I concur. Archuleta may have more overall value, but for the price, Jackson is an excellent pick up. He should fit into Lewis' defensive schemes quite nicely. Not an Ed Reed-style gamebreaker, but certainly a solid player who can get the job done, and another piece to a rapidly improving defense.

I totally agree. Sometimes it is more about value, and Jackson certainly fits into that mold.

He should be able to adapt quickly to the Cincy defensive scheme. Bengals fans have to be impressed with picking up Jackson.
