seventh Bengal arrested this year

CINCINNATI -- Bengals rookie wide receiver Reggie McNeal was arrested in Houston and was charged with resisting arrest after being refused entrance to a nightclub early Sunday, the Bengals said Monday.

McNeal, a former Texas A&M quarterback, was the Bengals' sixth-round pick in the 2006 college draft. He has been on the Bengals' roster since Sept. 19 but has played sparingly, team spokesman Jack Brennan said.

"We have been informed that Reggie has been arrested," Brennan said. "We don't feel it's appropriate to comment on a matter that's not resolved."

McNeal is the seventh Bengals player arrested this year.

Cool Re: seventh Bengal arrested this year

Kirk Kendall of Cincy Jungle says let's not rush to judgement.

Quote:
Imagine if your McNeal trying to get subdued by a guy wearing street clothes without McNeal knowing he's an off-duty cop. For all McNeal knows, he was getting thrown down by some guy rather than a cop. I think most of us would react the same. Did the off-duty cop say he was a cop before the throw-down? Was there a badge shown? I won't condone his act, but I won't demonize the guy either after reading suspect information. I could be wrong. I don't think we should rush to judgment either.

Sounds reasonable to me. Am I and Kendall wrong?
