| Mauk clings to eligibility quest Here’s the latest appeal of Ben Mauk, last years’ starting quarterback who lead the Bearcats to a 10-3 record and a No. 17 national ranking. They were hoping for a ruling last Monday but the NCAA requested a little more information. ……………………………………………………………………… Every day during spring practice Ben Mauk stands on the Nippert Stadium turf, wearing his familiar No. 9. He doesn't wear pads and he only occasionally participates in a passing drill. Until then, Mauk waits patiently and considers his options if the ruling goes against him. But he says he has "a pretty good feeling" that he will be able to play next year. "If you look at my case, there's two years that I was injured," Mauk said, "two years out of my control that I couldn't play. I've only played three years. I just want to play four years of college football, get my four years in, and I don't think I've been able to do that." http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080419/SPT0101/804190397/1064
