| Jim Thome injury White Sox DH Jim Thome missed today's game with Detroit after straining his left hamstring on Wednesday night. Thome is expected to miss all of Chicago's upcoming series with the Twins, at least according to the AP. How long is he expected to be out, and how do the ChiSox cope without just about everyone's consensus AL Comeback Player of the Year?

| Re: Jim Thome injury Thanks for updating us with this important injury, Lefty Noob. This minor injury couldn't have hit the organization at a worse time during the season. It will definitely impact their performance, since Jim Thome lured in some of their runs. Thome who was surprisingly productive was involved in MVP talks earlier this season. Obviously, he isn't the best player in the AL but he is one of the key aspects to the White Sox's success. I hope that the White Sox don't get beaten up too much by the Twins this week. I'm just kidding because I cannot pick a team to win this important match-up in this late part of the season. Both teams are suffering from injuries that have sidelined their stars for a few days or weeks, so this should be an equal and exciting series. |

| Re: Jim Thome injury That is a very creative nickname you made up for Thome, Sportsfan. You couldn't grant him that alias last year but this year it is acceptable. The Chicago White Sox aren't toast yet, as you saw last night. They crushed the Tigers even without "T'homer" in their line-up. The good news is that Thome is listed with a day-to-day hamstring injury. But for some reason I don't think it is just a couple of days. I think he will resume his spectacular season in about a week or so. |
