| Re: Soriano to ChiSox It's not going to happen, folks. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the deal is about dead because Kenny Williams is refusing to part with Jermaine Dye, Paul Konerko, Jim Thome, pitcher Brandon McCarthy, outfielder Brian Anderson and minor league third baseman Josh Fields. Apparently the Nationals wanted some combination of those six players, so Soriano is likely headed elsewhere. Sorry, Sox fans!

| Re: Soriano to ChiSox I think the main sticking point was Brendan McCarthy .. and we all see what happened with him .. after the proposed trade passed and now in the off season. McCarthy sucked on the ChiSox although a change of scenery may really help him .. plus being a starting pitcher. I wish we could have traded for Soriano .. but that would have been another huge money contract they would have had to try and pay. He is going to kill his career anyway ... he signed with the Cubs.. |

The White Sox will be interesting this year but the Cubs will get all the press, for the obvious reasons. |

| Re: Soriano to ChiSox Anyone that signs with the Cubs has a terrible year. The Cubs are coach killers and career killers for players. There are a couple of exceptions .. Sammy Sosa ... etc... but generally, a good player will not prosper at the Cubs .. look at Moises Alou and Many many pitchers ... maddux .... |
